long time since i last written a post...

today, 28 july, marks my last day at gv plaza.
More of sad than happy...

gained a lot, and lost a lot too...

loss:
lost a few kgs... haha :)

not sure if i can visit my fellow colleagues often... haha
will surely miss them... they are so cute and friendly... haha :)

school's starting, life's gonna go back to normal soon...
i will miss one person in particular.

accidents diary 14july

long time since i last wrote the accidents diary... haha good thing but then, today the worst thing happened... :(

sugar popped out of the sweet popper and landed on my face... :'( now there's a small burnt scar on my face... :( so ugly... really hope that it can heal soon...

these few days will have to cover using makeup... :/ sian...

having phobia of the sweet popper... :(

day out today

today my off day!! lol

went to watch movie with mum... haha blind detective at 1.40 at plaza sing...
show was not bad, some funny parts and some disgusting parts (no wonder it's nc16... lol haha)
hehe saw yangjian working at floor2 but did not manage to talk to him since he was busy... haha

later that day, was supposed to meet genhao and mike for k session at teoheng at katong. sent mum to the mrt station, on the way to level1, a pleasant surprise with my qin ai de and jas!!! haha so coincidental!! :):):) had a small chit-chat... haha must meet-up soon!!!

received a call from unknown number cutting short my conversation with them... lol it was mike... he asked genhao for my number... haha he came down to plaza to take sth from his locker and called me to see if i'm still at plaza... haha in the end we went teoheng tgt... haha :P good thing didnt lose our way...

sang k from 5-8pm. lovely experience i must say... first time i went k with my colleagues, also the first time i went with guys... (by this, i meant i was the only girl... haha) haha actually genhao sang quite well haha maybe cuz he knows what songs are suitable for him and he knows some singing techniques... mike sing loud songs and those where the original singers have deeper voices... (cuz his voice is more suitable for those songs) for me, i just pick the songs that i know how to sing... haha genhao was quite surprised i picked guys songs too... haha i dun care lor... singing is to de-stress, no image one... :P haha some of the keys i cannot reach or went out of tune, a bit embarrassing, dun think they will mind ba... :P hehe

actually, today's interaction with mike made me changed my impression of him slightly... haha cuz he looks slightly stern when he doesnt smile, so i was actually a bit afraid of him... like dun dare to go close to him. but actually he's quite easy-going too... he cracks jokes sometimes and quite approachable when he smiles... haha :P

ok, off to bed... tmr working from 1-10pm... long shift... but at least it's at floor so shouldnt be that tiring... :P hehe

moody day...

ytd, was feeling quite moody. depressed... smsed yangjian abt it... he tried to comfort me, lift my spirits up... really dunno why i felt moody... :( but the moment i'm at work, i started to feel better, maybe cuz it's the responsibility not to bring your personal feelings to work. sth like ‘其他人又没有得罪你，为什么要给他们脸色看’的感觉...  cloudy mood finally gone when i saw him, and after the chatting with kent, since he's working at the same station as me... haha

kent is really a nice friend to talk to, sometimes i really treat him as my brother, someone who i can just tell him my problems, someone whom i can trust... :)

yangjian, someone who i can turn to when i'm sad (haha ok maybe he still needs more observation...). he's a person who doesnt like the social stuff cuz he feels it's very troublesome. he was the kind who stays in the LAN to game, who rather watch movie on his phone than go out to hang out with friends... in a way good and in a way bad... kent says he's still a kid... true that, you cant judge ppl based on their past... he tends to bottle down his emotions... haha must make him talk more... :P

人不可貌相... but i hope i'm not wrong at judging ppl, even though i tend to stereotype... hehe

nearing my 2 months...

seems like a long time since i last blogged...

been busy... my 7 consecutive days of work... today being the 8th day but since today my shift is from 1800-2200, i got some time to spare... lol

my parents say that i'm a workaholic, i agree, to a large extent... haha
work keeps me busy, so tat i can dun think of other things...

and then there are also work buddies, lowell, yangjian, allen, kent.... they are all there to joke, laugh and make time seem to pass faster... really glad that i met them...

but somehow, i seems that i'm spending lesser time with my family... we seem to talk lesser... took off on sat to treat them to dinner... hope that will bring the gap closer again... :)

earning quite a fair bit... in exchange for all the sweat and energy.... plus all the bruises and scars... lol haha now the thing is to control my spending... haha with all the cash with me now, it's so tempting... :P haha ching, exercise some self control...


ok, a few days more and i ended my 2nd month at gv plaza... time flies, after the crazy june period where the school hols and even weekdays are busy days... now is the off-peak period, where all of us can slack a bit... recharge... and the full timers can now take their annual leaves... haha (there was a block off period during peak period...)

oh, just thought of it, must record down before i forgot... ytd elynn asked to go to the box office to learn the ropes... meaning, i may have to work in box someday... OMG... haha day 1 learning 感想: it felt like online gaming as you are like chop-ing (fighting) for seats among the counters at box. fastest fingers get the seats to sell to your patrons... haha no wonder they key the things so fast... haha lowell say it's cuz of the practice at box... actually, it's quite stressful, need to do more mental calculations, not like in candy bar where the change amt will be shown on the screen... all the credit cards and prepaid cards, not forgetting the bookings and stuff... learnt the basics only, there's more to come, dunno when elynn will ask me to go box during my shift to learn again... just hope for the best... :) haha

i was stretching to take the jumbo hotdog from the griller from the inner extreme end to put into the steamer, apparently my arm wasnt long enough... my arm touched the front bar of the griller... and then there goes... :(

got burnt again...

this time by the popper... and this scar is on the surface of my left hand... so it's super obvious... :(

genhao heard my scream when my hand hit the kettle in the popper... asked me to go wash under running cold tap water and go office to apply burn cream... :/

omg why am i so careless?? :(

so the 2 of the biggest burnt scars, one by the popper, the other by the griller...

so freaking tired today!!

it's 11plus, and i'm freaking tired since the start of the day... :/

why?
cuz i skyped with allen last night till around 1am... lol

1st time trying Skype.... even though the purpose of skype is just to see each other's faces (we didnt chat, typed instead cuz i dun wanna wake the whole family up...) he psyco-ed me to skype... lol

Allen, a very interesting guy... the first person i talked to when i first joined gv plaza. he was my trainer at candybar on day 1... haha sometimes a joker... sometimes i really wonder which of his words are true... haha

i took him as a elder brother... haha nice to have a brother... :P haha but sometimes quite weird when he says i'm cute and stuff... i kept hinting that i only took him as a brother... haha he seems to accept it. hais... dunno what he's really thinking... lol

so cuz of him, i slept at 1plus and had to wake up at 8am cuz my shift started at 945 today... lol whole day super sleepy and stuff... kept complaining to him that it's all his fault and he's like laughing at my misery...

had to ask lowell to help me buy coffee during his break so that i can attempt to be more awake...

ok really need to repay my sleep debt (i doubt 1 night is enough...) annyeong~

accidents diary 15jun

today had quite a number of accidents... my left hand badly hit...

first, a slight scald on my middle finger... as i accidentally touched the griller... :/

next my fingers got kiap by the cash register twice today... too rush to close the drawer = poor fingers get hit...

last, the most scary one was the popcorn flying out of the popper and hit somewhere btw my left eye and my nose bridge... just less than one cm away to my eye... really thank god that theres no scar... or else i'll really be disfigured... :/ super scary... shall really go get specs with lens soon... to protect my eyes... omg that was so close...

sidenote, the big and disgusting blister on my index finger has dried up to become a dark scar... a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life?

hope it becomes better... tmr off cuz of fathers day... haha gonna have consecutive 3 days work after that...

rest day...

finally rest day after my long work week of 7 straight days...
my last off was last sun... lol haha

actually serves me right for saying that work one day rest one day is very slack... so manager 'purposely' called me back to work on the days that was not originally my turn to work...

haha it is just qiao he that got ppl mc so i had to cover them... lol

got this super big and ugly blister from work... :( refer photo post on twitter...
cuz the sugar piece shot out of the popper and landed on my index finger... hot caramel = burnt = scar... :(

so sad... it's like my finger disfigured alr... :( hais... really hope that i wont be so 'lucky' next time to be blessed by the caramel sugar...

tmr going out with yangjian... haha telling ppl abt it feels weird. cuz it's really quite weird that only 2 of us going out... dun get it wrong, it's not a date... lol haha...

just hope that i won't be called back to work... haha may everyone be healthy!! haha :P

today, change of plans, 要放人家飛機... 很過意不去，可是他會了解的...

supposed to accompany yangjian to bugis street today after my work at 3plus... but then manager decided to extend my shift till 7plus... so sad cannot keep my promise... but there will still be other chances... i hope...

that day did floor duty with you. you said you wanted to buy a backpack and a watch for work. asked me where can get those things. i suggested bugis street but you didnt know where it was, being someone who just arrived in sg for around 2mths and everyday is just work and home...

要盡地主之誼， 決定當他的導遊... 可是沒想到今天人手不足，得加班了...

希望會有我們同一天休息的那一天... :) haha

legs so suan today... :/ hais... tiring day... plus having slight cramps... menses coming le... sian... good thing today salesamount got tally... hehe...

noticed one thing, actually elynn is always keeping her eyes on lowell and me... esp when we are both working... observing our interaction... although i have alr emphasized there's nth on btw us... haha its damm funny i think...

life in gv became more interesting cuz of these events... haha...

accidents diary 27may

on today's diary, i think i have quite a lot to write...

cuz it's not just 1 accident, it's 3... haha daebak...

firstly, when serving my first customer of the day, trying to pack the popcorn for him, my left foot was hit by the metal box holding the popcorn scoop. lol i cried out pain on the spot...
it's freaking painful. my feet immediately went red. (the part that was hit... ) currently the spot is slightly bloated and a bit blue-black i think...

not sure if i should rub it. thinking of not rubbing it and see what will happen tmr....
actually my instant thought was did i break my bone? lol haha

second accident, when trying to take something, my left hand slightly touched the hot griller. hence got a burnt mark on my index finger (yup again on index finger...) i think my left hand is going to get a lot of wounds... :( ugly... have to apply cream before i sleep later...

third incident, got scalded again by the popcorn... this time the popcorn skin jumped out and landed on my left hand... lol... i think i really have to get used to the heat... haha

ok, so i'm now at home, using a face mask to comfort my torn soul... :P haha

haha today, (or i mean ytd, 26may)

the oil from the popper scalded my left index finger. didnt see that coming...
but the oil suddenly 'jump' out of the kettle pot when i was pouring the ripen popcorn out...
shocked. was a big drop of oil. super pain.

really hope there wont be any scar...

so affected by today's events until i forgotten to get the cream for burns from the office... hais...

here, a place where people wont judge me... (cuz only nan and steffi will see this, haha i think)

a place where i can just rant without ppl judging (or actually i trust ppl who read this to not judge me too negatively...)

just felt that i needed a space to rant off my frustrations... 委屈 maybe... actually i also not very sure why i felt so hurt/ emotional today...

today at work... the 'result slip' shows that i have an extra $10 in my cash register. meaning either i gave the patron the wrong change, or i forgot to key in a sales transaction and collected money from it. either way, it's my fault.
but then again, i've always been very careful and when i up/down any money, i would have known (from the previous times where i collected less money or patron forgot to take the change... ) but today's error was seriously unexpected... i was damm shocked when i saw the figure. EXACTLY $10...

sidenote: i think manager wont want me to handle cash next wk le, given this ugly record... :/

when manager A asked me to recount the float, i was quite pissed cuz i'm 90% sure that my float amt was correct. it's like an insult to a math student to have done such simple sums wrong. moreover, i always count my money at least twice... also his tone was quite harsh also. 给我重算 was what he said.  lol seriously like a boss lor. i know you are the boss but then you can say it in a nicer tone right?!

and then i think you dislike me sia (refer tweet post), your attitude towards me is quite bad. i didnt take note of how you treat the rest but compared to the other managers, you seem to ignore me or give me weird response sometimes... just say of the things that happen today, asking me to recount my float, ok i accept it. it's the standard procedure when there's more or short of money.

in the morning, a patron handed a kiddie combo coupon to use, i saw the expiry date was 24april. obviously overdued. asked you abt it. 'this coupon is says valid till 24april but then patron say she just received it at the box office, how? box ppl give wrongly?' your response was '今天是几号？' I was like lol why you so random ask me this qn. your facial expression was like cant you see this is an overdued coupon, still need me to tell you what to do kind of thing.
super pissed. you are the manager. you are the one who is supposed to solve the problem since i've already told you the problem. and i'm told, dunno anything, ask manager, cannot quarrel with patron. then now you are like asking me a pri sch level qn? lol

ok fine. you took the coupon to ask the other manager abt it. then subsequently prob solved. new coupon not sent over yet so use old one.

next issue, today popping gourmet popcorn so the salted popcorn popper is used. then in front of my counter was a couple trying to decide what to order. i saw the oil in the popper is hot enough (cuz of the smoke coming out). you was just standing beside the popper, so i signaled/ asked you to help put the raw corn in. dunno if you didnt hear me or what cuz we clearly had eye contact. but then you pretended (from what i see) to not understand what i was saying and ignored me. you are free standing at the counter and you cant do such a simple thing? or is it cuz you are a manager so i cannot ask you to help me? lol
in the end i have to run to the popper to pour the raw corn myself before going back to my counter to ask the couple for their order.

all these may be misunderstanding i dont know. i just feel strange that he's like that...

also, another thing why i felt so affected today was cuz of what yiting said, 厉害hor，爬到我们头上来了hor... i'm just trying to express my dissatisfaction why i had to count the float again. groan a bit... apparently she felt that i was trying to be 没大没小 with the managers. ok fine, now i know where i stand. it's so disheartening that she thinks so bad of me. seriously felt like bursting out crying at that point of time. and again she told me i shouldnt have so much left over $2 notes, should have changed it with the other ppl. the truth is, i asked auntie mary if she needed $2 notes to change with me. she said she has a lot of it. then i commented i'm gonna get nagged by yiting again if she sees the pile of $2s. true enough...

(add-on: he asked me to count $50 worth of 10cents coins and pack them into packets of $10. and i did recounting for the $10 packets in case of any error. actually i told him that he just throw the whole packet of coins into the money exchange dispenser and the machine will just count out the amt i want. lol waste my energy when this job can just be done easily. the time used to count the coins was supposed to be my lunch time. and you just conveniently asked me to count the coins. lol count until my fingers black)

ok this post is damm long... just realise my recent posts are all very long... hais... may tmr be better... and i should seriously stop complaining / thinking about this.  sounded super 小心眼... (but I'M NOT!)
bottom line: know where you stand... 不要不自量力。

today me rest day... haha slacked the whole day at home... haha snacking a lot... (that's quite bad actually... :p)

occasional breaks are good... haha gives you time to recharge and reflect...

this week of work allowed me to learn new things... haha and a lot of accidents in the candy bar too... :P haha that reminds me to write a diary of the accidents that happened on me... haha

ytd i got the nachos cheese into my eye when serving the customer as i put the ladle too hard into the container...
the day before i scald my right hand cuz the warmer temperature was too high. the plastic bag even melted inside the warmer. then when i was trying to take the cheesy hotdog out... hais...
then another day before i squatted down to take a screwdriver at the bottom of the popcorn popper, stood up too fast and hit my head on the popper door. then the hit was too hard that the door fell out... head damm pain... :'(
another day before i scald my left hand as my hand accidentally touched the griller when i was putting the meatballs to cook....

omg i'm super careless... :/ wasnt like this last time... but now... :/

maybe cuz of the trauma caused by my colleague... currently, the rumor now is someone wants to court me... lol this is damm weird. heard from the other colleagues that he always target the new girls that work here... it's like damm despo and scary lor... omg. that day he bought koi for me... like out of no reason... not only that, he still went to ask lowell stuff abt me on his first day of work... lol damm crazy... im not sure whats the situation like now, told my manager abt it. she says he should be controlling it already cuz a lot of the staff had been teasing him... i got lowell to help me if possible... and tried to avoid him... rejected his request to give phone no and fb name... hope he gets the hint and gives up...
